The liquid dispenser automatically dispenses accurate amounts of liquid, from a bulk supply, into multiple vials or test tubes simultaneously. The dispenser is calibrated to dispense a single fixed volume of liquid but can also be set up to switch between two fixed volumes.
It is operated by holding a ‘wand’ that dispenses the liquid over a row of vials or test tubes.
There are two variants of the dispenser available.
An 8 or 10 channel dispenser that has a free wand and fills one row per dispensing action
10 Channel dispenser
A 10 or 12 channel dispenser that has a guided wand and fills 2 rows of test tubes simultaneously per dispensing action.
12 channel dispenser

Benefits
High repeatability and accuracy (± 0.1 mL with 99% confidence)
Multiple vials filled simultaneously speeds up lab processes
Small footprint design easily fits on a benchtop
No electrical connections
Easy to purge, clean and maintain
Manufactured from inert materials to allow for use with reactive chemicals.
The ILAS4000 automates a series of monotonous sample handling tasks. It ensures that samples are:
mapped from trays and grabbed by the robot
identified by RFID scanner (or barcode reader)
mixed by inversion to ensure a homogenous sub-sample
de-capped
placed in the carousel
presented to the analyser pipette
re-capped and placed back into the tray
Operator Savings
The ILAS4000 is easy to operate and takes over all monotonous tasks. A single operator can easily manage 2-3 machines on their own. Training to use the machine is fast and simple. The robot follows a strict procedure which eliminates the risk of human error.
Quality Assurance
The inside of the ILAS4000 is kept cool with an internal refrigeration system. This ensures that analyser readings are more accurate due to the robot operating in a cooled environment which inhibits bacterial growth. An acrylic case seals the robot off to insulate and protect the operator. The general operating procedure greatly reduces the risk of cross-contamination.
Productivity Increase
Up to four trays can be loaded into the machine at once. Throughput is maximized by the ILAS4000 as it handles multiple samples simultaneously. Up to 200 samples per hour can be processed depending on the analyser used.
System Features
The ILAS4000 fully integrates with the following analysis solutions:
Foss BactoScan
Bentley Instruments BactoCount

When a milk sample is taken from a herd of cows at both the morning and evening milking, each sample can be separately analysed, or the two samples can be combined proportionally (according to AM and PM milking volumes). Having staff fetch each sample, shake them, proportion the volumes and then manually combine them is labour intensive, and this is made even more difficult when the samples are randomly located in the trays.
The ILAS2000 sample pairing robot is designed to automate this task. One of the challenges of performing this pairing operation is to do this quickly despite randomly placed samples, and the distance the pickup gripper has to travel between the input and output tray locations. Intellitech now hold patents covering the innovative designs that enabled them to solve this task, and produce a robust and reliable machine that can efficiently perform this task whilst maintaining sample integrity.
